Earthly-Branch Six Harmonies in Bazi Compatibility
Verify one of the six branch pairs across two charts, keep harmony separate from transformation, and explain why Liu He cannot guarantee emotional or marital harmony.
Overview
Earthly-Branch Six Harmonies in Bazi compatibility (合婚中的地支六合, Hé Hūn Zhōng De Dì Zhī Liù Hé) identify one of six recognized pairs across two charts: Zi–Chou, Yin–Hai, Mao–Xu, Chen–You, Si–Shen, or Wu–Wei. The pair establishes a Liu He relation under the selected table, not a guarantee of harmony and not automatic transformation. Record each branch’s chart, pillar, hidden stems, Month Command, natal contacts, seasonal support, and competing relations. State whether the comparison is Day-Branch to Day-Branch or another cross-chart contact. A Six Harmony cannot prove attraction, compatibility, safety, marriage, fidelity, or outcome.

Verify the pair, pillars, and comparison scope
Name both branches, their charts, and pillar positions. If the contact joins the two Day Branches, label it spouse-palace to spouse-palace; otherwise state the actual pillars involved.
List each branch’s hidden stems and natal relations. The same pair may sit inside very different structures, and multiple cross-chart pairs must remain separate evidence items.
- Publish the exact Liu He pair.
- Do not call every branch contact a spouse-palace match.
Distinguish the relation from transformation and benefit
The pair supports a Six-Harmony relation statement. Transformation or a favorable function needs a declared method plus seasonal, root, support, obstruction, and whole-chart evidence.
Do not assume that cross-chart branches combine exactly as two branches inside one natal chart. If the method does not define cross-chart transformation, do not claim it.
- Stop at relation when transformation evidence is absent.
- Assess usefulness separately in each chart.
Check competing relations and contradictory layers
Review clashes, punishments, harms, breaks, three-combination or meeting sets, void, and dated contacts without assuming that one label cancels all others. State the priority rule used.
Compare Day Masters, spouse stars, full charts, and timing separately. A Liu He pair can coexist with tension, neutral evidence, or uncertainty.
- Publish competing-contact rules.
- Retain disagreement instead of averaging it away.
Do not translate Liu He as relationship harmony
The word “harmony” in the technical name does not prove emotional agreement, healthy attachment, consent, safety, sexual fit, marriage, fidelity, or permanence. Absence of Liu He is not incompatibility.
Use observed behavior, communication, boundaries, plans, and safety evidence for relationship judgments. Six Harmonies remain a limited structural comparison.
- Avoid literalizing the English word “harmony.”
- Never use Liu He as a marriage approval test.
