Overview
Useful-God complementarity in relationships (關係中的喜用神互補, Guān Xì Zhōng De Xǐ Yòng Shén Hù Bǔ) is a cross-chart comparison used after each natal chart has an independently justified useful-function analysis. It asks whether two people’s real roles and resources may support, constrain, compete with, or leave unchanged the functions identified in each chart. It is broader than marriage compatibility and may frame family, friendship, workplace, caregiving, or business questions. No person supplies another person’s useful god, fills a missing element, changes natal structure, or becomes intrinsically beneficial or harmful. School choice, seasonal strength, roots, structure, circulation, counterevidence, direction, and timing remain attached to each chart. Real support must be confirmed through consent, conduct, resources, capacity, and context.

Name the relationship and the practical question
State whether the context is family, friendship, work, care, study, or business, and identify the specific decision or interaction under review. Do not import spouse-star rules into every relationship.
Record roles, authority, dependence, available resources, time window, and each person’s consent to use their birth data. A symbolic comparison cannot create an obligation to provide support.

Establish useful functions independently in both charts
Declare the school and decision order used for Month Command, strength, structure, climate, circulation, bridges, remedies, and useful or adverse functions. Preserve disagreements instead of selecting the most convenient result.
A useful god is an interpretive function within one chart, not an object another person owns. Cross-chart presence, element counts, or a favorable label cannot revise the natal conclusion.

Compare possible support without declaring a benefactor
Identify the exact symbol, owner, pillar, direction, natal function, enabling condition, competing contact, and time layer. Classify the comparison as possible support, restraint, competition, neutrality, contradiction, or insufficient evidence.
Then check whether the real relationship provides relevant communication, skill, care, access, time, money, or structure. A matching element without observable support is not practical complementarity.

Do not prescribe people as remedies
No person repairs a missing element, transfers energy, cures health, guarantees success, or should remain in a relationship because a chart calls them useful. An adverse function does not make a person harmful.
Use direct evidence for health, safety, competence, finances, consent, and relationship decisions. Autonomy and applicable professional or legal standards override every symbolic comparison.
