Ardra Nakshatra: Gemini Degrees and Rahu
Learn Ardra’s 6°40′–20° Gemini range, its Rahu timing association, and how a Moon at 10° Gemini leaves three quarters of the opening period.
Overview
Ardra occupies 6°40′–20° sidereal Gemini, equivalent to 66°40′–80° total longitude. Its Vimshottari lord is Rahu, while Gemini is ruled by Mercury. Rahu’s association with this sector does not mean the node is physically conjunct its occupant.

What does Rahu-ruled mean here?
It means Ardra belongs to Rahu in the nine-lord Vimshottari sequence. A Rahu longitude and a Moon longitude are independent chart entries. Calling the star Rahu-ruled is not evidence of an eclipse or of a Moon–Rahu conjunction.
Every Ardra pada is in Gemini, but the point’s house still depends on the chart reference. Do not substitute “third house” merely because Gemini is the third zodiac sign. A sign number and a house number answer different questions.
A quarter traversed is not a quarter remaining
For an invented birth Moon at 10° Gemini, the total longitude is 70°. Subtract Ardra’s 66°40′ beginning to get 3°20′, the start of pada 2. One quarter has been traversed and three quarters remain.
The opening Rahu balance is 18 × 3/4 = 13.5 dasha years in the cited method, not 18 × 1/4. This exercise isolates a common reversal of elapsed and remaining fractions. Dates require a stated year convention and an actual birth timestamp.
How far can an Ardra description go?
Words about storms or difficulty in popular descriptions do not prove trauma, danger or a future crisis. The coordinate finding supports a sector label; any metaphor belongs to a separately sourced traditional interpretation.
If the question is about Rahu, inspect the node’s computed position and whether the chart uses a mean or true node. That setting affects the node coordinate, not the fact that a verified Moon at 70° belongs to Ardra under this table.
