Overview

Uttara Bhadrapada occupies 3°20′–16°40′ sidereal Pisces, or 333°20′–346°40′ total longitude. Saturn is its Vimshottari lord; Jupiter rules Pisces. It follows Purva Bhadrapada but is a separate nakshatra.

Both Bhadrapada names need their prefix

Why a Pisces label does not settle the nakshatra

The first 3°20′ of Pisces belongs to Purva Bhadrapada, the next 13°20′ to Uttara Bhadrapada and the final 13°20′ to Revati. A Pisces Moon can therefore have three different nakshatra labels.

Jupiter’s sign ownership applies across Pisces, but the Vimshottari lord changes between those sectors. The two systems should not be collapsed into a single “ruling planet” field without explaining which role it represents.

An exact midpoint in Pisces

Use an invented Moon at 10° Pisces, or 340° total longitude. Subtracting 333°20′ leaves 6°40′, equivalent to 400 arcminutes. This is the beginning of Uttara Bhadrapada pada 3.

With half the sector remaining, the Moon-based opening Saturn balance is 19 × 1/2 = 9.5 dasha years. A different Pisces coordinate in Purva Bhadrapada would not use Saturn simply because the two names resemble each other.

How to compare two Bhadrapada reports

Check the complete name, Moon longitude and pada together. If both reports show Pisces but one says Purva and the other Uttara, inspect whether the numerical difference crosses 333°20′. The sign can agree while the star and period lord differ.

Traditional depth or maturity descriptions do not certify wisdom, reliability or a relationship outcome. Preserve the narrow coordinate finding, and use independent evidence for claims about a person’s character or choices.
