Ashlesha Nakshatra: Cancer’s Final Sector
Locate Ashlesha at the end of Cancer and see what changes at 0° Leo. Keep Mercury’s period role separate from unsupported judgments about people.
Overview
Ashlesha spans 16°40′–30° sidereal Cancer, or 106°40′–120° total longitude. The upper limit is excluded: exactly 0° Leo begins Magha. Mercury is Ashlesha’s Vimshottari lord; the Moon remains Cancer’s sign ruler.

Why the end of Cancer needs careful notation
Some tables show the endpoint as “30° Cancer.” That describes the boundary, not an extra degree still inside Cancer. In a normalized coordinate list, the same boundary is 0° Leo. This guide uses start-inclusive, end-exclusive intervals to remove the ambiguity.
Ashlesha names an angular sector. Popular serpent imagery, when used, is a traditional metaphor and cannot establish deceit, danger or a child’s moral character. A source for the coordinate does not automatically support those interpretations.
One arcminute can cross two boundaries
Compare invented Moon longitudes 119°59′ and 120°00′. The first is Ashlesha pada 4 at 29°59′ Cancer. The second is Magha pada 1 at 0° Leo. Here both the rashi and the nakshatra change together.
The Vimshottari opening lord also changes from Mercury to Ketu in that specific Moon-based method. This does not mean a real person abruptly changes character. If the birth time or calculation setting places the Moon on either side, retain that uncertainty in the timing setup.
How to use an Ashlesha result responsibly
Record the Moon’s distance from the 120° boundary before relying on a very precise-looking label. Rounded display values cannot resolve a disagreement between calculations. Compare their actual sidereal settings, timestamp and numerical precision.
A star-based claim about a relative’s future, health or safety is not established by this coordinate table. The practical result here is a reproducible position and a declared timing association; consequential judgments require independent evidence.
