Overview

Purva Ashadha occupies 13°20′–26°40′ sidereal Sagittarius, or 253°20′–266°40′ total longitude. Its Vimshottari lord is Venus. The following Uttara Ashadha is a different sector with a different period lord.

Purva and Uttara are not interchangeable prefixes

What does the full name prevent?

An abbreviated “Ashadha” result is incomplete for interval lookup. Purva Ashadha stays in Sagittarius, whereas Uttara Ashadha continues into Capricorn. Their names share a word but not the same geometry or Vimshottari association.

Jupiter owns Sagittarius in the sign-rulership scheme. Venus’s nakshatra timing role does not imply Venus rules the sign or physically sits there. Preserve the occupant, sign ruler and period lord as separate chart fields.

A Moon close to the next Ashadha

Take an invented Moon at 265° total longitude, or 25° Sagittarius. Purva Ashadha began at 253°20′, so the offset is 11°40′: pada 4. The remaining distance to 266°40′ is 1°40′, or 100 arcminutes.

Moon-based Vimshottari therefore leaves 20 × 100/800 = 2.5 dasha years of Venus. Exactly 266°40′ starts Uttara Ashadha. A report that keeps Venus beyond that boundary needs its coordinate reference and method checked.

Does the traditional name guarantee victory?

No success, status or certainty follows from the nakshatra calculation. A traditional epithet can be discussed as cultural interpretation but cannot serve as evidence that a project or relationship will succeed.

When reading a broad search result, distinguish this evergreen interval guide from a daily horoscope or a prediction for a particular year. Those are different tasks; this page does not claim to supply them.
