Shatabhisha Nakshatra: Aquarius Degrees and Rahu
Find Shatabhisha’s Aquarius range and its final-quarter boundary. Separate Rahu’s period association from medical or healing claims.
Overview
Shatabhisha occupies 6°40′–20° sidereal Aquarius, or 306°40′–320° total longitude. Its Vimshottari lord is Rahu. Saturn is Aquarius’s sign ruler in the seven-planet convention used here.
At a glance
- Sidereal interval
- 306°40′–320°00′ total longitude
- Pada starting longitudes
- 306°40′, 310°00′, 313°20′, 316°40′
- Vimshottari association
- Rahu; eighteen-year full period
- Important distinction
- 320° begins Purva Bhadrapada
Why different spellings can still identify one sector
Shatabhisha, Shatabhishak and Satabhishak are transliteration variants encountered in chart references. Verify the 306°40′–320° interval before assuming two spellings denote different stars. A stable coordinate key is more reliable than spelling alone.
Rahu’s Vimshottari role is not proof that Rahu occupies Aquarius. Nor does it displace Saturn as the sign ruler under the declared scheme. The actual node coordinate remains independently calculated.
A Moon in the final pada
Take an invented Moon at 317°20′ total longitude, or 17°20′ Aquarius. It is 10°40′ = 640 arcminutes into Shatabhisha and belongs to pada 4, which began at 316°40′.
There are 160 arcminutes remaining, so the Moon-based opening Rahu balance is 18 × 160/800 = 3.6 dasha years. At exactly 320°, Purva Bhadrapada starts; Shatabhisha’s upper boundary is excluded.
Does a healing association establish medical ability?
No. A traditional name or healing metaphor cannot diagnose illness, certify a healer or justify delaying treatment. These coordinate facts support no medical prognosis. Such decisions need qualified care and ordinary clinical evidence.
When a chart is close to 320°, retain the underlying precision and the uncertainty in the birth timestamp. A rounded Aquarius 20° display may conceal a position just before the boundary; compare the actual numerical calculation.
