Overview

Hidden stems affect strength by supplying internal qi, roots, Ten Gods, and seasonal continuity. Their contribution is not obtained by simply counting every stored stem equally. Begin with Month Command, identify the subject being measured, grade each root and hidden layer, then apply exposure, generation, control, combinations, clashes, climate, and competing structure.

Define the subject and seasonal baseline

State whether the analysis measures the Day Master, a Ten God, or one phase. Establish Month Command and climate before adding root evidence.

A hidden stem can support one subject while draining or controlling another. Without a named subject, “strong hidden stem” is ambiguous.

  • Name what is being measured.
  • Set the seasonal baseline first.

Grade each hidden contribution

Record the branch, pillar, qi layer, and whether the stem is exposed or repeated. Primary qi in season is generally different from residual qi out of season.

Use one declared model consistently. Do not mix classical qualitative language with unexplained numerical percentages.

  • Keep an auditable evidence row.
  • Disclose any weighting policy.

Apply the branch’s current condition

Generation can support the hidden qi; control and drain can reduce availability. Combinations, clashes, punishments, harms, and breaks must be evaluated by their own conditions rather than automatically deleting a branch.

Competing pathways may leave a mixed result. Preserve uncertainty instead of selecting the most dramatic interaction.

  • Evaluate relation conditions.
  • Retain mixed evidence.

Keep strength distinct from favorability and outcomes

A strong phase may be excessive, while a weaker phase may still be useful. Strength does not directly mean good, successful, healthy, or safe.

Use the result as one chart layer. Medical, financial, legal, or relationship decisions require current professional evidence.

  • Strength is not usefulness.
  • No life outcome from a strength score.
