Overview
Hidden Ten Gods are not stored labels independent of the chart. Expand a branch into its hidden stems, then compare each stem’s phase and polarity with the current Day Master. The same branch can therefore contain different Ten Gods for different Day Masters and several Ten Gods at once. Qi layer, season, exposure, and root condition determine relevance.
At a glance
Step 1
Expand the branch into hidden stems
Step 2
Compare each stem with the Day Master
Relation inputs
Five Phase direction and yin-yang polarity
Possible result
One branch can hold several Ten Gods
Relevance checks
Qi layer, season, exposure, and roots
Limit
A hidden Ten God is not an event or person
Derive, do not memorize, the Ten God labels
The hidden-stem table is fixed, but Ten God labels change with the Day Master. The same Ren inside Shen is one Ten God for a Bing Day Master and another for a Wu Day Master.
Use the standard generation-control relation first, then polarity to distinguish direct and indirect forms or peer and competitor.
Begin with the verified Day Stem.
Calculate every hidden stem independently.
Preserve multiple relationships inside one branch
A three-stem branch can contain three distinct Ten God relations. The primary layer may be most structurally prominent, but secondary layers remain legitimate data.
Do not label the entire branch with only the most convenient Ten God or add the three as equal visible counts.
Keep one result per hidden stem.
Record the qi layer with the label.
Separate identity from availability
Ten God identity is deterministic once Day Master and stem are known. Its effective strength is a separate assessment involving season, exposure, roots, support, control, and branch condition.
A hidden Wealth, Officer, Resource, Output, or Peer does not automatically become usable, favorable, or dominant.
Relationship name is not strength.
Strength is not favorability.
Do not map hidden Ten Gods directly to people or events
A hidden Ten God cannot prove a spouse, child, parent, job, illness, debt, or legal event. Six-Relative associations are interpretive conventions that need full context.
Use transparent calculations and protect users from deterministic or third-party claims.
