Overview
Rooting across a Separated Pillar (隔柱通根) means that a visible stem finds qualifying hidden-stem support in a nonadjacent branch. The root does not disappear because another pillar lies between them. Some systems reduce distant influence; others emphasize the root’s season and quality. Any distance treatment must therefore be disclosed rather than presented as universal law.

Keep root existence distinct from root reach
First verify that the distant branch actually contains a qualifying hidden stem. That establishes a root relation under the selected matching policy.
Only after existence is established should a method discuss positional attenuation, intervening relations, or practical availability.
