Combination Neutralizing a Clash (貪合忘沖)

Understand when strong combination access can reduce or redirect a simultaneous clash and why the clash remains in the evidence graph.

Combination Occupies Clash Participant

Editorially reviewed:

Overview

貪合忘沖 describes a situation in which a branch or stem is sufficiently occupied by a stronger combination route that a competing clash has less effective access. It is a priority result, not automatic cancellation. The exact combination, clash, shared participant, season, roots, proximity, and residual force must be published.

At a glance

Required topology
One participant has both an eligible combination and clash
Decision
Which route has stronger access and support
Evidence
Season, roots, proximity, completion, repetition, and timing
Possible status
Combination dominates, clash dominates, divided force, or both remain
Residual rule
The weaker relation stays recorded unless its access is truly absent
Boundary
The phrase is not a relationship or loyalty claim

Draw both relations around the shared participant

Name the canonical combination and canonical clash and show the branch or stem they share.

If the two relations do not compete for the same participant, 貪合忘沖 is not the right label.

  • Verify both tables.
  • Identify shared topology.

Compare access instead of applying a slogan

A complete, adjacent, rooted, seasonally supported combination may occupy more of the participant’s effective force.

A strong repeated clash or a damaged combination may reverse that priority.

  • Measure both routes.
  • Allow clash dominance.

Report residual clash force

Neutralized does not necessarily mean deleted; the clash may remain weak, delayed, redirected, or time-bounded.

State what evidence would change the result in another timing layer.

  • Keep residual status visible.
  • Recalculate when timing changes.

Do not literalize desire or forgetfulness

貪合忘沖 cannot prove infidelity, distraction, reconciliation, loyalty, conflict avoidance, or a guaranteed outcome.

The phrase describes competition between symbolic routes, not human motives.

  • No motive attribution.
  • No relationship prediction.
