Jealous Combination in Bazi (妒合)

Understand how jealous combination is used in some Bazi schools, how it overlaps with competing combination, and how to label the convention responsibly.

Overview

Jealous Combination (妒合) is a school-sensitive label for a stem-combination rivalry, often emphasizing an uneven or intrusive competitor. It is not a separate physical relation beyond the actual Five-Combination pairs. A reproducible reading must name the school rule, involved stems, topology, stronger route, and remaining uncertainty.

Declare what the school means by 妒合

Some lineages distinguish 妒合 from the broader 爭合, while others use the terms loosely.

State the adopted definition before applying the label so another reader can reproduce it.

  • Name the convention.
  • Do not present one usage as universal.

Reduce the label to visible stem relationships

List the shared stem and every canonical partner rather than treating jealousy as evidence.

Distance, roots, season, and clashes show which contact is stronger or whether both remain weak.

  • Anchor the term to symbols.
  • Publish contradictory evidence.

Return a bounded technical result

The defensible result may be one stronger combination, two damaged contacts, binding, or no effective combination.

Do not award transformation until the proposed phase separately meets seasonal and structural conditions.

  • Use the narrowest status.
  • Test conversion separately.

Do not literalize jealousy

妒合 cannot identify a jealous person, triangle, affair, betrayal, or hostile colleague.

Personal claims require behavior and context outside the chart; the term remains a technical school label.

  • No motive attribution.
  • No relationship forecast.
