Jia-Ji Combination into Earth (甲己合土)

Overview

Jia–Ji Combination into Earth (甲己合土) is one of the Five Heavenly-Stem Combinations. The presence of 甲 and 己 establishes a candidate relation, not an automatic change into Earth. Read position and distance first, then test Earth-supporting season and roots, competing combinations, clashes, the original roots of both stems, and whether the chart can sustain the proposed transformation.

Identify the Jia–Ji contact before judging transformation

Locate 甲 and 己, record their pillars, and distinguish an adjacent contact from a distant Year–Hour pairing. A visible pair may be registered even when distance makes it weak.

Keep each stem’s original element, roots, and Ten-God role in the evidence map. The pair name alone does not erase Wood or Earth functions.

  • Record both stems and their positions.
  • Separate contact from transformation.

Require a coherent Earth pathway

Test whether the Month Command, seasonal climate, Earth roots, and visible or hidden Earth support allow the proposed phase to become operational.

Compare that support with Jia’s surviving Wood roots, moisture and growth conditions, and any force that prevents the pair from reorganizing around Earth.

  • Season is necessary context, not a slogan.
  • Preserve counterevidence from the original stems.

Audit competition, damage, and timing

A second Jia or Ji may create competing or jealous combination paths. Clashes, other combinations, and blocked access can leave the pair merely combined or bound.

When a Luck Pillar or year supplies the missing support, report it as a time-bounded change and restore the natal baseline when that layer ends.

  • Show every rival path.
  • Give period evidence an expiry.

Do not translate Earth transformation into life events

甲己合土 does not prove trustworthiness, land ownership, marriage, pregnancy, profit, digestive health, or a particular occupation.

Those conclusions require direct real-world evidence; the chart page should state only the technical relation and its conditions.

  • No character typing from one pair.
  • No medical or financial inference.
