Distant Combination in Bazi (遙合)

Overview
Distant Combination (遙合) records a canonical Heavenly Stem pair separated by pillar distance or intervening structure. The pair may be named, but it should not receive the same practical force as adjacent contact. Roots, intermediaries, competition, clashes, and timing determine whether the relation stays nominal, becomes usable, or is interrupted.

Only a fixed Five-Combination pair can become 遙合.

Scale force to contact and continuity
A remote Year–Hour pairing normally has less direct access than Year–Month, Month–Day, or Day–Hour contact.
Matching roots or a continuous phase route may support it, while rivalry and intervening clashes can weaken it further.

- Inspect continuity and blockers.
Let timing bridge the route only temporarily
A Luck Pillar or annual stem may create an adjacent or better-supported contact with one natal participant.
Date that activation and return to the natal baseline when the timing layer ends.

- Give temporary evidence an expiry.
Do not inflate a weak label into an outcome
遙合 alone cannot establish transformation, marriage, distant romance, migration, wealth, or delayed success.
Describe contact strength and uncertainty instead of inventing an event from physical distance.
