Overview
Day Master Roots and Strength (日主通根與旺衰) asks whether the Day Master’s stem or element appears within Earthly Branch hidden stems and how usable those roots are. Primary qi, middle qi, residual qi, season, pillar position, branch integrity, repetition, and exposure all change root quality. Rootedness is a major support channel, but it does not settle overall strength without Month Command and opposing forces.

Map roots at the hidden-stem source level
Expand every natal branch and identify exact-stem or same-element matches under the declared root policy. Preserve the branch and hidden-qi layer.
Do not count the same hidden stem once as a root, again as an element, and again as a Ten God without deduplicating the strength contribution.

Grade root quality instead of counting roots
A primary root in season differs from a residual root out of season. Position, exposure, repeated support, and branch condition add context.
