Common Errors in Bazi Strength Assessment (強弱判斷常見錯誤)

Overview

Common strength-assessment errors arise when a reader replaces weighted relationships with visual counting, lets one Month Branch decide the chart, double-counts hidden stems, treats every combination as transformation, erases roots after clashes, or forces strong/weak and following labels too early. A fixed evidence order, source provenance, counterexample tests, and explicit uncertainty correct these failures.

At a glance

Counting error
Treating all characters as equal votes
Season error
Letting Month Command settle the full chart
Root error
Double-counting or automatically erasing roots
Interaction error
Assuming every combination transforms
Classification error
Forcing binary or following labels early
Correction
Use ordered, source-level, versioned evidence

Replace character counts with weighted relations

A visible stem, primary root, residual hidden stem, and seasonal relation do not carry equal evidentiary weight. Counting colors or elements hides those differences.

Trace each contribution to its source and grade season, layer, exposure, integrity, and position.

  • No one-character-one-vote rule.
  • Keep source and quality attached.

Avoid one-month and one-root shortcuts

Receiving command does not guarantee overall strength, and losing command does not guarantee weakness. Roots and support can reverse the first impression.

Likewise, one weak root cannot rescue every chart. Compare all support and opposition channels before classifying.

  • Use Month Command as a baseline.
  • Audit root quality across all branches.

Test interaction conditions before changing the score

Combination is not automatically transformation; clash is not automatic deletion; harm and punishment do not have one universal numerical penalty.

Apply only declared rules, preserve contested evidence, and recompute the affected network after valid changes.

  • Gate transformations explicitly.
  • Do not erase symbols by label.

Resist false precision and deterministic language

Binary labels and exact percentages can conceal uncertainty near boundaries or across schools. Report confidence and material counterevidence.

Strength labels do not measure willpower, health, worth, or success.

  • Use calibrated conclusions.
  • Keep technical and personal meaning separate.
