True Following Structure in Bazi (真從)

Overview
A True Following Structure (真從) is a disputed but established Bazi pattern in which an extremely weak Day Master lacks meaningful independent support and follows a coherent dominant force. Classification requires rootlessness or effectively unusable roots, strong directional momentum, limited contamination, and alignment with season and structure. It should never be inferred from a low strength score alone.

Require strict formation conditions
First establish extreme weakness, then inspect every branch for roots and every stem for Resource or Companion support. A material independent base argues against clean following.
Next verify that the dominant force is coherent, rooted, seasonally viable, and not split among incompatible routes.

Test whether contrary support is effective
A tiny residual hidden stem is not automatically decisive, but neither should it be erased. Grade its season, branch integrity, exposure, and ability to connect to the Day Master.
Disclose the school rule used to decide whether contamination breaks the pattern. This is a classification policy, not a universally agreed percentage.

Follow the dominant route only after validation
When the structure is valid, additional qi aligned with the dominant tendency may be interpreted differently from ordinary weak-chart support. That strategy remains conditional on climate and timing.
A luck period that restores a genuine root or strong Resource pathway can change the operational reading without changing the natal data.

真從 does not mean obedience, weak will, dependence, conformity, or surrender in real life. The verb “follow” describes a chart tendency.
