Dead Seasonal Phase (Si) (死)

Overview
Dead (死) is the phase assigned to the element controlled by the element generated by the season’s prosperous qi. It occupies the lowest relative seasonal position in the 旺相休囚死 model. The term does not mean that the element is absent or that a person faces death. Strong roots, visible support, combinations, and chart needs can still make the element relevant.

Identify the prosperous element, find the element it generates as 相, and then find what that supportive element controls. The final target occupies 死.
This chain distinguishes 死 from 囚, which is controlled directly by 旺. The categories should not be merged into one generic “weak” label.

Read the lowest seasonal position without erasing the element
死 indicates a severe seasonal disadvantage inside this five-phase framework, but the natal chart can still contain primary roots, exposed stems, generators, or transformations supporting the element.
Record those conditions before deciding whether the element is practically weak, dormant, useful, or redirected.
