Extreme Weakness May Follow in Bazi (弱極宜從)
Learn when extreme weakness may support a following classification in Bazi, which conditions must be verified, and why ordinary weakness should not be forced to follow.
Overview
Extreme Weakness May Follow (弱極宜從) is a conditional classical principle: when the Day Master has virtually no viable season, root, generation, or peer support and another force forms a coherent dominance, resistance may be less structurally plausible than following that force. The word “may” is essential. Residual roots, recoverable support, mixed dominance, or unstable transformations can keep the chart in an ordinary weak or false-following category.
At a glance
- Candidate state
- Day Master support is nearly exhausted
- Required pattern
- One opposing tendency is coherent and dominant
- Disqualifier
- Viable roots or recoverable support remain
- Recheck
- Season, roots, exposure, combinations, and timing
- Alternative
- Ordinary weak or false-following structure
- Limit
- A technical classification, not surrender advice
Prove extreme weakness before considering following
Start with the Month Command, then test every root, Resource source, Companion force, and viable generation route. A weak Day Master is not automatically weak enough to follow.
Support that is residual, damaged, or remote still has to be recorded. The question is whether it remains structurally usable, not whether the chart looks numerically outnumbered.
- Audit all support channels.
- Do not convert ordinary weakness into following.
Identify what the chart could actually follow
A following candidate needs a coherent dominant route such as Wealth, Officer, Output, or a declared elemental tendency. Several unrelated strong symbols do not form one followable direction.
Check whether the dominant force is rooted, seasonally available, exposed, and internally connected. Competing routes lower confidence.
- Name the dominant route.
- Test coherence, not simple quantity.
Separate true, false, and failed following patterns
A surviving root, a useful Resource stem, or later support can expose tension between appearance and structure. Schools differ on whether this creates false following or rejects following entirely.
Publish the adopted rule and counterevidence. Timing can activate dormant support, but it should not be used to retroactively erase natal facts.
- Disclose the school threshold.
- Keep natal and timing evidence separate.
Keep the principle inside chart analysis
弱極宜從 does not tell a person to submit, abandon agency, accept abuse, or follow a career or partner. It is a structural metaphor within traditional Bazi.
Real decisions about safety, money, health, law, and relationships require current evidence and qualified help.
- No behavioral command from the label.
- No guaranteed life outcome.
