Annual Influences and the Ten Gods
Map annual stems and hidden stems to Ten Gods relative to the Day Master, retain their source layers, and avoid literal event predictions.
Overview
Annual Ten Gods are deterministic relationships between the fixed natal Day Master and the annual stem or the annual branch’s hidden stems. The mapping does not itself predict events. Separate visible stem, hidden stems, roots, palace contacts, and active Luck-Pillar Ten Gods, then assess which pathways are supported or constrained. Traditional labels such as Wealth, Officer, or Spouse Star are functional terms, not proof of money, job title, or a person.

Calculate the annual Ten Gods deterministically
Use element and polarity relative to the natal Day Master for the annual stem and every hidden stem.
Display the annual Jiazi and source field so a visible stem is not confused with a branch’s stored function.
- Use one mapping table.
- Show visible and hidden sources.
Keep natal, luck, and annual instances separate
The same Ten-God label can appear in several layers with different dates, roots, and chart locations.
Do not collapse them into one score; record how the layers connect or compete.
- Preserve provenance and dates.
- Avoid duplicate weighting.
Read function only after conditions
Inspect root, season, combination, control, structure, useful-function policy, and palace contact.
Describe a functional pathway only where evidence supports it, with counterevidence and limited confidence.
- Check usability, not appearance alone.
- Keep contrary signals visible.
Ten-God names are not literal forecasts
Wealth does not guarantee money, Officer does not guarantee a job, and Spouse Star does not identify a partner.
Do not infer health, crime, fidelity, pregnancy, income, or another sensitive fact from a label.
- Translate mechanisms, not names, into prose.
- Protect third-party privacy.
