How Monthly Influences Work

Use solar-term month boundaries to refine an annual hypothesis, preserve the natal Month Pillar, and avoid month-by-month guarantees.

Overview

Monthly influences are dated stem-branch layers bounded by solar terms, not Gregorian or lunar calendar months. They refine an annual and Luck-Pillar context; they do not replace the natal Month Pillar. Calculate the month stem from the annual stem under the published rule, retain the exact solar-term timestamps and timezone, then inspect named contacts to the natal chart. A monthly contact narrows a hypothesis but cannot guarantee a monthly event.

Build the monthly interval from solar terms

Use the exact solar-term instant in the selected IANA timezone to determine when each Bazi month begins and ends.

Do not substitute the first day of a Gregorian or lunar month.

  • Store both boundary timestamps.
  • Publish timezone and ephemeris policy.

Calculate the complete monthly pillar

Assign the solar-month branch and derive the month stem from the annual stem with the registered Five-Tigers sequence.

Keep the resulting pillar in a timed layer rather than overwriting the birth Month Pillar.

  • Verify stem and branch together.
  • Preserve natal and timed provenance.

Use the month to refine an existing hypothesis

Compare the monthly Jiazi with the natal chart, active Luck Pillar, and annual Jiazi for named Ten-God and stem-branch pathways.

Increase specificity only when it reinforces an already supported mechanism; keep competing relations and counterevidence.

  • Start from longer-cycle evidence.
  • Avoid searching every month for a story.

A monthly contact is not a monthly promise

It cannot guarantee transactions, meetings, conception, recovery, conflict, travel, or any other event.

Use current schedules, records, consent, and professional advice for real decisions.

  • Avoid calendar determinism.
  • Do not time high-stakes action from Bazi alone.
