Luck Pillars and Family Roles
Combine Ten-God family conventions, natal palaces, and dated Luck-Pillar relations without claiming facts about relatives or family events.
Overview
Family-role reading uses traditional Ten-God correspondences together with palace positions and the whole natal chart. A Luck Pillar may introduce, support, combine, clash, or constrain a role symbol, but it does not create a literal relative or reveal that person’s conduct. Declare the convention, identify the natal and timed symbols, compare supporting evidence, and keep conclusions conditional.

Declare the family-role convention
State how the selected school maps Resource, Wealth, Officer-Killing, Output, and Peer roles to family relationships.
Because gender and school conventions vary, the mapping must be visible rather than presented as a universal biological fact.
- Publish the mapping used.
- Separate convention from identity.
Combine role symbols with natal palaces
Locate the relevant natal role, its strength and relations, and the pillar or palace traditionally associated with the family context.
Then add the Luck-Pillar stem and branch and calculate exact support, control, combination, clash, and hidden-stem pathways.
- Use role and palace together.
- Keep natal and timed evidence distinct.
Describe a theme without inventing biography
A period may symbolically emphasize responsibility, support, boundaries, exchange, or tension around a family role.
Report multiple plausible expressions and counterevidence instead of asserting that a relative will act in a particular way.
- Offer bounded interpretations.
- Do not infer another person’s intent.
Family symbols are not consent or safety evidence
A chart cannot establish parentage, pregnancy, illness, death, abuse, inheritance rights, custody, or the quality of a family member.
Use communication, records, medical testing, legal advice, and safeguarding services where those facts matter.
- Avoid sensitive factual claims.
- Prioritize consent and real evidence.
