How to Estimate Event Timing in Bazi
Build a reproducible Bazi timing hypothesis from the natal chart, Luck Pillar, annual influence, shorter cycles, and counterevidence.
Overview
Bazi timing is an evidence-ranking method, not a calendar of guaranteed events. Begin with a defined question and a natal mechanism, test whether the active Luck Pillar opens that pathway, then inspect annual and shorter cycles for dated reinforcement. Record counterevidence, boundary policies, and confidence. A narrow time window is only a symbolic hypothesis and must not replace real-world planning or professional advice.

- No event guarantee
Define the event and natal evidence first
Translate the question into a chart mechanism such as a named Ten-God pathway, palace contact, or useful-function condition.
If the natal chart does not support a clear mechanism, adding more dates creates precision without evidence.
- State the exact question and participants.
- Do not search dates before defining the mechanism.
Move from long cycles to short cycles
Test the active Luck Pillar before the annual Jiazi, then use month, day, or hour layers only to refine an already supported window.
Keep every layer dated and separate so a repeated symbol is not counted twice or rewritten into the natal chart.
- Use natal → Luck Pillar → year → shorter cycle.
- Preserve provenance for every layer.
Rank convergence and counterevidence
Increase confidence only when independent rules converge on the same mechanism and their formation conditions are met.
Reduce confidence when competing combinations, weak roots, missing participants, boundary uncertainty, or contrary real-world evidence remain.
- Publish supporting and opposing signals.
- Use a bounded confidence label.
A timing window is not a promise
The method cannot guarantee marriage, pregnancy, employment, profit, illness, litigation, accidents, or another person’s choices.
Use medical, legal, financial, safety, and relationship decisions based on current evidence and qualified advice, not a Bazi date.
- Avoid deterministic dates.
- Never delay essential action for a forecast.
