Overview
Clashing Tai Sui commonly means that the natal year branch directly opposes the annual branch in one of the Six Clashes. The detection is simple only after the comparison branch and year boundary are declared. Interpretation is not simple: the relation must be read with the complete annual Jiazi, natal chart, active Luck Pillar, palace context, and competing combinations. A clash signals a technical contact, not a promised disruption.

Confirm an actual Six-Clash pair
Compare the declared natal branch with the branch of the annual Jiazi after applying the site’s published Bazi year boundary.
Only the six registered opposite pairs qualify; visual position, zodiac folklore, or a similar element does not create a clash.

Record what is being clashed
The popular Tai Sui convention usually starts with the natal year branch, while a full Bazi reading may separately inspect contacts to all four branches.
Keep those analyses distinct so a year-branch zodiac label is not silently presented as a clash to the Day Branch or another palace.
- Name the natal pillar.
- Do not move a relation between palaces.
Check completion, redirection, and chart role
Review combinations, meetings, punishments, roots, hidden stems, the annual stem, and the active Luck Pillar before describing the clash.
Explain which symbolic pathway is contacted and what counterevidence limits the reading rather than translating clash directly as conflict.
