How Hourly Influences Work

Derive a dated hourly Jiazi from the effective day stem and double-hour boundary, disclose the time model, and limit it to cautious refinement.

Overview

An hourly influence is the stem-branch pair for one dated double-hour interval. The hour branch follows the declared clock or true-solar-time policy, while the hour stem is derived from the effective day stem through the Five Rats method. Historical time zone, longitude policy, day changeover, and boundary minutes can change the result. The layer may refine an already supported timing question, but it cannot replace the natal Hour Pillar or guarantee an event within two hours.

Resolve the time model before the hour branch

Apply the historical IANA offset and disclose whether civil clock time, local mean solar time, or true solar time sets the double-hour.

Show the effective timestamp and distance from the nearest boundary instead of hiding uncertainty near a changeover.

  • Name the time model.
  • Flag boundary sensitivity.

Derive the complete hourly pillar

Determine the effective Bazi day under the same day-boundary policy, then use its day stem and the hour branch to derive the hour stem.

Validate the Five Rats sequence and keep the dated hourly pillar separate from the birth Hour Pillar.

  • Day stem comes before hour stem.
  • Preserve both provenance layers.

Use hours only after broader layers converge

Require a supported natal pathway, active Luck Pillar, annual evidence, and an explicit reason to narrow the window further.

Compare both sides of uncertain boundaries and publish a range when the source time or time model cannot justify minute-level precision.

  • Do not force hour-level precision.
  • Keep alternative intervals visible.

An hour pillar is not an event trigger

It cannot guarantee a call, trade, treatment outcome, encounter, birth result, accident, conflict, or another person’s behavior.

Use real schedules, monitoring, consent, safety rules, and professional guidance for time-sensitive action.

  • Avoid auspicious-minute promises.
  • Do not create unsafe urgency.
