Void in an Annual Influence
Calculate annual Void under a declared Xun Kong reference, preserve the annual branch, and avoid treating Void as deletion or failure.
Overview
Void in an Annual Influence means that the annual branch is evaluated against a declared Xun Kong reference and falls within that reference’s two omitted branches. The reference can differ by method and question, so it must be named. Void is an interpretive modifier, not a missing branch: the branch, hidden stems, and relations remain in the chart. It cannot prove that plans, people, money, health, or relationships will disappear or fail.
At a glance

- Boundary
- Void is not deletion
Name the Xun Kong reference
Calculate the ten-Jiazi xun and its two void branches from the exact pillar selected by the method.
Do not change between Day-Pillar, annual, or other references without disclosing the rule and reason.
- Publish the reference pillar.
- Use one versioned table.
Keep the annual branch in the model
Void does not erase the branch, its hidden stems, palace contacts, or registered branch relations.
Store the void flag as a separate modifier so other calculations remain auditable.
- Never delete the branch.
- Separate detection from interpretation.
Check timing and competing mechanisms
Inspect filling, clash, combination, repetition, root, and the active Luck Pillar under the selected school’s rules.
Explain whether the modifier weakens, delays, abstracts, or remains inconclusive only when the declared method supports that reading.
- Name modifying conditions.
- Allow an inconclusive result.
Void does not mean nothing will happen
It cannot prove failure, absence, infertility, lost money, illness, disappearance, or invalidity of a person or relationship.
Use schedules, contracts, tests, records, and professional advice for real outcomes.
- Reject deletion language.
- Do not cancel plans from Void alone.
