Monthly Influence in Bazi
Calculate the monthly stem-branch by solar-term boundaries, layer it under the annual influence, and keep short-term interpretation conditional.
Overview
A Monthly Influence is a dated stem-branch layer derived from the Bazi solar-month system. The month branch changes at the relevant sectional solar term, not automatically on the first Gregorian or lunar day, and the month stem is derived from the annual stem under the declared year convention. It can refine annual and Luck-Pillar analysis, but it does not rewrite the natal Month Pillar or guarantee a monthly event.

Calculate the solar month before interpretation
Resolve the instant against the relevant sectional solar-term boundary and assign the correct month branch.
Derive the month stem from the applicable annual stem and preserve the complete monthly Jiazi with timezone and calculation version.
- Do not use calendar-month shortcuts.
- Store the exact boundary timestamp.
Keep the natal and timed months separate
The natal Month Pillar remains fixed because it belongs to the birth chart; the Monthly Influence is a temporary layer.
Label every relation by source so users can distinguish natal month, active annual influence, and the shorter monthly Jiazi.
- Never overwrite the natal month.
- Display layer provenance.
Use the month to refine an existing timing hypothesis
Compare the monthly stem and branch with the natal chart, active Luck Pillar, and annual Jiazi after those longer layers are established.
Look for repeated or completing evidence and state when the monthly interval starts and ends rather than treating the month name as a result.
- Read longer layers first.
- Attach claims to the month interval.
Monthly influence is not a scheduling guarantee
It cannot guarantee interviews, conception, profit, conflict, treatment outcomes, accidents, or any other event in a month.
Use practical calendars, consent, medical advice, contracts, and risk planning for time-sensitive decisions.
- Avoid event-day promises.
- Do not delay necessary action.
