Case Method for Dominant Structures
Test dominant or specialized-strength structures through complete element force, purity, flow, disqualifiers, school rules, and timing.
Overview
A dominant-structure case asks whether one element or functional direction commands the chart strongly enough for a specialized classification under a named school. The analysis must prove seasonal support, roots, continuity, purity, and effective flow while searching for counterforces, broken links, and alternate structures. Different dominant forms have different component rules and should not be grouped by impression. Dominance does not describe personality, power, social control, health, or inevitable success.

Identify the exact dominant form
Name the proposed specialized structure and list its required elements, branches, seasonal condition, roots, and continuity under the source used.
Do not substitute a general impression of “much Wood” or “very strong” for the form’s component test.

Search for usable counterforces
Audit output, wealth, control, Resource, competing roots, combinations, and breaks that redirect or divide the dominant flow.
State which residue is permitted by the school and which item rejects the structure. Preserve ordinary-strength alternatives.

Apply time to the natal direction
Track periods that reinforce continuity, introduce counterforce, open an outlet, or damage a critical root.
Do not use one matching period to prove the structure or to guarantee success when the dominant element returns.
