Overview

Qiong Tong Bao Jian (窮通寶鑑, Qióng Tōng Bǎo Jiàn) is a transmitted Bazi work best known for organizing heavenly stems by birth month and discussing seasonal cold, heat, dryness, moisture, and the conditions under which particular elements may regulate the chart. Its received form and later annotated editions require provenance checks; a modern statement should not be presented as an uncontested ancient line. The book’s stem-by-month guidance is a starting model, not a substitute for the complete stems, branches, roots, revealed material, structure, and circulation of an individual chart. Climate language is symbolic and seasonal, not a medical diagnosis, physical temperature reading, or automatic missing-element prescription.

Locate the stem-month passage and its textual layer

Identify the heavenly-stem chapter, birth-month subsection, edition, and whether the wording is base text, annotation, or later editorial summary. Similar editions may not be textually identical.

Do not cite a modern table without tracing it back to a recoverable passage. Preserve disputed wording and avoid claiming exact authorship when the transmission record is uncertain.

  • Cite stem, month, edition, and passage.
  • Separate received text from later annotation.

Use seasonal guidance as a conditional model

Start from the actual solar month and seasonal state, then inspect whether the proposed regulator is present, rooted, revealed, supported, blocked, combined, controlled, or excessive.

A listed element is not automatically useful in every chart of that month. Its sequence and function depend on the full configuration and the adopted school.

  • Verify the solar-month boundary first.
  • Test availability, capacity, and interference.

Keep climate regulation distinct from other useful gods

Climate regulation asks how seasonal bias may be moderated. Strength balancing and structure protection ask different questions and can produce different priorities.

Publish each method’s result separately, then explain agreement or conflict. Do not select the answer that best matches a desired event or personality description.

  • Name the question each method answers.
  • Do not backfit method priority to the outcome.

Do not literalize climate or prescribe an element

Cold, hot, dry, and damp are traditional chart descriptors, not measurements of physiology, climate tolerance, illness, food needs, colors, objects, or geographic destiny.

Medical and lifestyle decisions require direct evidence and qualified guidance. The classic supports historical method study, not health treatment or guaranteed fortune.

  • Symbolic climate is not medical climate.
  • No element remedy or outcome guarantee.
