Modern New-School Bazi: Authors, Algorithms, and Review

Evaluate modern New-School Bazi by naming its author, version, calculations, weights, and evidence instead of treating branding or novelty as a unified tradition.

Overview

Modern New-School Bazi (新派八字, Xīn Pài Bā Zì) is a broad market label for recent author-led systems, revised strength models, scoring rules, software conventions, and hybrid interpretations. It does not identify one historical lineage, terminology set, or calculation standard. A responsible page therefore names the author or organization, publication, edition, date, algorithm version, calendar policy, decision sequence, weights, thresholds, and any empirical claim that can be independently checked. Deterministic chart calculation must remain separate from interpretive scoring and biographical storytelling. Novel terminology, proprietary branding, popularity, or software precision does not by itself establish accuracy, and OpenFate should not silently import a closed rule into a public explanation.

Name the actual system and version

“New School” is too broad to support a rule. Identify the author, institution, publication, date, edition, software release, and terminology used by the specific system.

Do not transfer a rule between similarly branded methods. If the source is proprietary or unavailable, disclose that the result cannot be independently reproduced.

  • Replace umbrella claims with source-specific attribution.
  • Version proprietary and software rules explicitly.

Separate deterministic inputs from interpretive scores

Publish calendar conversion, pillar derivation, hidden-stem tables, strength rules, weights, thresholds, tie handling, and the path from symbols to the final label.

A decimal score is meaningful only when its scale and validation are documented. Do not present opaque precision as a factual measurement of a person.

  • Make formulas and thresholds inspectable.
  • Match numerical precision to validated evidence.

Test claims against counterevidence

Distinguish illustrative cases from a predefined validation set. Record failed cases, ambiguous labels, missing data, selection effects, and whether the reader knew the biography in advance.

A system may be internally consistent without being empirically predictive. State which claims are textual, computational, editorial, or tested.

  • Publish failures and uncertainty, not only matches.
  • Do not confuse consistency with predictive validity.

Keep modern branding from becoming authority

A recent or proprietary system does not supersede other methods merely because it claims reform. Compare assumptions and evidence without a marketing hierarchy.

Do not use a modern score to diagnose health, screen people, accuse conduct, guarantee wealth, or dictate legal, financial, or relationship decisions.

  • Brand claims require independent support.
  • No high-stakes verdict from an opaque model.
