Editorially reviewed:

Overview

Fu Yin and Fan Yin are source-dependent timing and repetition terms. A careful case defines whether Fu Yin requires an identical stem-branch pillar, repeated stem or branch, or another school-specific pattern. It likewise states whether Fan Yin means a full stem conquest plus branch clash or a broader opposition. The analysis records the repeated or opposing pillar, chart layer, palace, functional stars, roots, and qualifying interval. Neither label proves bereavement, illness, accidents, relocation, divorce, recurrence, or “double misfortune.”

Publish the operating definitions first

Cite the source or school and state the exact identity required for Fu Yin and the opposition required for Fan Yin.

Do not merge incompatible definitions or translate the poetic labels into effects before the pattern has been detected.

  • Define each rule operationally.
  • Preserve school variants.

Locate the repeated or opposing function

Record the pillar, palace, stem and branch functions, roots, hidden stems, structure role, and whether the contact is natal or temporary.

Compare the chart before and after the timing layer. Repetition alone does not specify what is strengthened, stalled, exposed, or redirected.

  • Identify the affected pathway.
  • Compare states, not labels.

Validate all qualifying periods

Predefine the theme and time window, then review every period meeting the same Fu Yin or Fan Yin rule, including non-events.

Do not select a dramatic episode and retrofit a rule. Report timing uncertainty and alternative boundary policies.

  • Include misses and counterexamples.
  • Separate calibration from validation.

Reject fatalistic repetition claims

Fu Yin and Fan Yin do not prove death, disease, injury, divorce, moving, dismissal, recurrence, or twice the harm.

Safety, health, legal, employment, and relationship questions require current facts and appropriate support.

  • Do not predict tragedy.
  • Do not amplify fear through translation.
