Overview

A useful Bazi case study is a documented test of a method, not a story written backward from a known outcome. Begin with provenance and consent, freeze the birth data and calendar policy, calculate the chart independently, declare the interpretive school and question, then analyse natal structure before timing. Observed events and dates belong in a separate evidence ledger so the reading cannot quietly borrow information it claims to predict. Record supporting, neutral, contradictory, and missing evidence, compare plausible alternatives, and state what the case cannot establish. One case can illustrate a reasoning chain; it cannot validate a universal rule or replace a controlled evidence base.

Pre-register the case question and protocol

State the question, accepted data, calendar conventions, interpretive school, decision order, and stopping rule before reading the known outcome. This reduces hindsight editing.

If the case is retrospective, mark which facts were already known to the analyst. Do not present a post-hoc explanation as a blinded forecast.

Keep calculation, interpretation, and outcomes separate

Store the birth record and provenance, deterministic four-pillar output, derived relations, interpretive claims, and observed events in distinct fields. Each claim should point to its inputs.

Correct a calculation without rewriting the original record. Version changes so readers can reproduce both the earlier and revised analysis.

Test alternatives and counterevidence

Run the declared reading order, then compare plausible alternative birth times, conventions, or schools when relevant. Record evidence that does not fit the preferred explanation.

A good case states which observations would weaken or falsify the interpretation. Similarity between a broad theme and an event is not automatically a match.

Limit what one case can support

A case can demonstrate calculation, terminology, and a reasoning path. It cannot establish population-level accuracy, causal influence, or safety for consequential decisions.

Anonymize or obtain consent, minimize personal data, and avoid diagnosing, accusing, or exposing third parties. Real-world decisions require direct and professional evidence.
