Overview

Complete Five Elements is the workbook’s English name for 五行俱足. One source formulation counts Metal, Wood, Water, Fire and Earth across year, month, day, hour and fetal pillar through either “true qi” or Nayin, and also calls the arrangement Complete Meeting of the Five Storehouses. Presence alone is not enough: the five must have qi, support one another and avoid unsupported death or extinction. The same passage records a direct disagreement from Hu Zhong Zi, which says not to count the fetal pillar and instead complete the set from the birth year’s governing true qi; it explicitly calls adding the fetal month’s Nayin a mistake. A modern article must preserve that dispute rather than merge both methods. OpenFate does not infer balance, luck or a Complete Five Elements verdict from seeing five labels.

Completeness requires both a counting policy and usable qi

The first route allows true qi or Nayin across year, month, day, hour and fetal pillar. It then adds mutual generation and the absence of unrescued death or extinction.

Five visible element labels therefore do not prove the classical pattern, and a five-element count does not prove balance, favorable structure or equal strength.

  • State which layer supplies each of the five elements.
  • Separate presence, strength, support and usefulness.

The fetal-pillar disagreement must remain visible

Hu Zhong Zi rejects the fetal-pillar count and instead centers the birth year’s governing true qi. The text specifically warns against adding one fetal-month position merely for its Nayin.

These are incompatible counting policies. An article may compare them, but a detector would need one explicit adopted policy and reproducible input definitions.

  • Attribute each counting rule to its source.
  • Do not combine disputed inputs to manufacture completeness.

OpenFate separates visible elements from disputed completeness methods

The engine can calculate the visible pillar elements and the ordinary generation, control, roots and strength evidence used elsewhere in the product.

There is no Complete Five Elements detector. No fetal pillar, true-qi convention, balance score or favorable verdict is injected into reports or saved charts.

  • Use visible deterministic elements as product truth.
  • No invented fetal input, balance score or report mutation.

All five elements do not prove balance, fortune or health

The source associates a supported complete set with nobility. That historical outcome does not follow from element presence.

Do not infer a balanced personality, wealth, rank, career, relationship quality, fertility, health, disease protection or lifespan. Use relevant real evidence.

  • No balance, wealth, rank or career guarantee.
  • No personality, relationship, fertility, health or lifespan inference.
