What Is Monthly and Hourly Nobility (月時逢貴) in BaZi?
Learn the Yue Shi Feng Gui month-hour rule, its Lu and Horse examples, strength and damage conditions, textual ambiguity and product limits.
Overview
Monthly and Hourly Nobility is the standard English name for 月時逢貴, a terse San Ming Tong Hui rule that emphasizes noble, Lu, and Horse evidence in the Month and Hour positions. The passage names examples for Jia and Yi Days and calls repeated evidence “double Lu,” while requiring the route not to be in a resting or imprisoned state. Its final damage clause is textually ambiguous in the consulted transcription, so no universal eligibility table or OpenFate detector is claimed. The label does not guarantee examination success, fame, office, youth advantage, or wealth.

The source privileges Month and Hour rather than any two positions
The verse says that nobility in the month, with Lu and Horse added, was traditionally associated with early examination fame. It then gives terse Jia-Day and Yi-Day month-hour examples and applies the name 重祿 when qualifying evidence repeats.
These compact examples do not form a transparent ten-stem table. A responsible page records the exact text, positions, adopted meanings of Noble, Lu, and Horse, and any school reconstruction instead of expanding two examples into an undisclosed universal algorithm.
- Preserve the Month–Hour positional requirement.
- Label any completed lookup table as a later reconstruction.
Strength is explicit, while the transmitted damage clause needs caution
The passage states that the relevant evidence should not be in a resting or imprisoned state. That makes usable qi a separate test from the presence of a branch or stem token. Repetition called double Lu also requires the adopted relation to qualify in both positions.
The final clause concerning punishment, clash, and harm is grammatically difficult in the consulted transcription and may contain a missing negation or punctuation issue. OpenFate therefore does not claim that damage is required or harmless; editions must be compared before fixing that condition.
- Check strength and position separately from marker presence.
- Do not resolve the ambiguous damage clause without edition evidence.
OpenFate keeps Month, Hour, Lu, Horse, and Noble evidence separate
OpenFate can calculate the Four Pillars, strength, Lu Shen, Travel Horse, and several Nobleman stars. It does not currently aggregate them into a Monthly and Hourly Nobility or double-Lu result.
A future detector would require a complete stem table, fixed definitions for each named signal, an edition decision for the damage clause, strength thresholds, counterexamples, and versioned report wording. The Wiki is not a hidden product specification.
- Do not infer the aggregate from separate marker outputs.
- Resolve the source table and ambiguous clause before automation.
Month–Hour nobility does not guarantee early fame or office
The configuration cannot prove examination success, academic ability, fame, government work, promotion, helpful patrons, salary, wealth, youth advantage, morality, health, or a favorable date. Historical capital and examination imagery is not a modern forecast.
Education, career, financial, and legal decisions require qualifications, records, opportunity, and professional advice. Do not promise early success or time applications, resignation, or investment from this label.
- Exclude examination, fame, office, patronage, wealth, and timing guarantees.
- Use current qualifications and evidence for education and career choices.
