What Does “Weak Self Cannot Bear Wealth” (身弱不擔財) Mean?
Learn what 身弱不擔財 means, how Day-Master support and effective Wealth are assessed, and why it differs from the specific 財多身弱 condition.
Overview
Weak Self Cannot Bear Wealth is the workbook standard English name for 身弱不擔財, also written 身弱不任財 or 承財不足. It is a reading principle: before treating Wealth as usable, first test whether the Day Master has effective seasonal support, roots, Resource, Peers and a functioning route through the chart. “Cannot bear” is not a literal medical weakness or a prediction of poverty; it means the Wealth-side demand is not well supported under the selected structural model. This principle is broader than 財多身弱, which names a more specific relative imbalance in which effective Wealth is materially heavy. OpenFate exposes strength and capacity signals but keeps financial outcomes outside the deterministic calculation.

“Bear” means structural capacity inside the model
Traditional wealth discussions repeatedly require the Day Master to have enough force to engage Wealth. Assessment begins with month command, season, roots and effective support from Resource or Peers, then accounts for combinations, clashes and transformations that change access to those supports.
Wealth must also be real rather than merely named: visible and hidden Wealth, roots, generation from Output, location and damage all matter. One Wealth star and one weak label do not prove an inability to bear Wealth.
- Establish effective Self support before judging Wealth.
- Measure usable relationships, not symbol counts.
The capacity principle and 財多身弱 are related but not identical
身弱不擔財 asks whether a weak Day Master can use a given Wealth configuration. 財多身弱 additionally says the effective Wealth side is abundant or dominant relative to Self. The first can describe a boundary case without the second being the best page label.
A true follower-to-Wealth structure is another classification entirely: if the Day Master is rootless and the chart coherently follows Wealth, ordinary support-and-resist advice cannot be imported automatically.
- Use this page for the general capacity test.
- Reclassify genuine follower structures before prescribing support.
OpenFate returns auditable strength and capacity evidence
The engine evaluates strength ratio, root level, seasonal support and the relative Self, Resource, Output, Wealth and Authority energies. Its life-domain layer can expose “Day Master too weak for Wealth,” while strategy classification can identify a weak Wealth-heavy state when the dominance conditions are met.
Those are versioned structural signals, not measurements of bank balance, income or risk tolerance. The Wiki explains them without changing saved reports or converting internal thresholds into classical constants.
- Keep the calculated signal and its evidence together.
- Do not translate an engine threshold into a financial fact.
Structural capacity is not personal ability or financial advice
The label does not prove low competence, low ambition, poverty, debt, overspending, illness, burnout, relationship dependency or inability to own assets. It must not be used to shame or screen a person.
Budgeting, investment, employment, lending, medical and mental-health decisions need current real-world data and qualified advice. No BaZi signal should replace them.
- No competence, poverty, debt or health diagnosis.
- No investment, lending, hiring or relationship decision from the label.
