What Is Day Master Sits on Warlord (天元坐煞) in BaZi?

Overview
Day Master Sits on Warlord is the workbook standard English name for 天元坐煞, a San Ming Tong Hui rule in which the day stem sits over a branch containing its Seven Killing. Jia Shen and Yi You are named, while Yi Chou illustrates Xin Metal hidden beneath Yi as Killing. The source requires a supported Day Master, no repeated Officer-or-Killing attack, and a viable path such as Resource transformation or balanced Output control. Season, roots and further Killing exposure can reverse the assessment. “Warlord” is a product name for Seven Killing, not a diagnosis of aggression, violence or occupation. The pattern does not prove command, courage, military talent, illness, disability, crime, office or success.

The day branch must carry the Day Master’s actual Seven Killing
Jia Shen and Yi You are direct examples because the day branch carries Metal that controls the Wood Day Stem. Yi Chou is explained through hidden Xin Metal, which is Seven Killing to Yi. The rule therefore depends on the day pillar and hidden stems, not merely a visible Killing elsewhere.
For Yi Chou, spring or summer can support Yi Wood, while autumn can leave it depleted under Metal. These are source-specific seasonal comparisons rather than a universal claim that every spring chart is safe or every autumn chart is harmful.

Strength, roots, repeated power, transformation and control determine usability
The Day Master needs real support and should not face additional Officer-or-Killing pressure that overwhelms the chart. Rooted Resource can transform Killing into support, while a viable Hurting Officer route may control or combine it when proportionate.
Visible Fire is not automatically helpful, and too much control can damage the useful route. Wealth can strengthen Killing, combinations can redirect it, and later cycles can reactivate pressure. Eligibility and usable structure must be reported separately.
