Talent in the Same Nest is the workbook standard name for 食神同窠, literally “Food God in the Same Nest.” The source’s basic example is a Jia-Zi person meeting Bing-Zi: Jia Wood produces Bing Fire as Food God, while the paired pillars keep the same Zi branch. Its phrase “the thirteenth position is the same” preserves an old sequence description and should not be expanded into a complete table without a reviewed transmission. The passage ranks month below day and day below hour, and values mutual exchange, flourishing state and Lu support. It also gives historical charts and a related “same-nest Indirect Resource” analogy. OpenFate can calculate the stems, branches and Ten Gods, but has no detector for this rare label.

The same nest combines a Food-God stem relation with a repeated branch
In Jia-Zi meeting Bing-Zi, Bing is the Food God produced by Jia and both pillars use Zi. The “nest” therefore comes from the shared branch, not from any two Food-God characters appearing in the chart. The old thirteenth-position phrase describes the transmitted sequence relation.
The passage says month placement is weaker than day and day weaker than hour, then favors mutual exchange, flourishing state and Lu. These are additional qualifications. A reviewed implementation needs a complete, source-checked pair table before extending beyond examples.

It also mentions Jia-Zi year with Ren-Zi hour and Geng-Zi year with Wu-Zi hour as a “same-nest Indirect Resource” analogy. The accompanying child-harm claim is historical and excluded from modern use. That analogy does not change Food God and Indirect Resource into the same Ten God.
