Overview
Hidden Noble and Hidden Lu is the workbook’s English label for 夾貴夾祿; “Flanking Noble and Lu” is the more literal description. The source first gives eight Lu-flanking branch pairs by reference stem: Jia uses Mao and Chou, Yi uses Yin and Chen, Bing or Wu uses Chen and Wu, Ding or Ji uses Si and Wei, Geng uses Wei and You, Xin uses Shen and Xu, Ren uses Xu and Zi, and Gui uses Hai and Chou. It then records separate Lu-nest, Noble-arching, Nayin and multi-pillar variants. Because these routes use different anchors and the compressed Lu-nest wording is not a complete table, they must not be collapsed into one algorithm. OpenFate does not synthesize the absent middle branch or detect this composite formation.

The primary Lu route begins with eight explicit branch pairs
For Jia the visible branches are Mao and Chou; for Yi, Yin and Chen; for Bing or Wu, Chen and Wu; for Ding or Ji, Si and Wei. Geng uses Wei and You; Xin, Shen and Xu; Ren, Xu and Zi; and Gui, Hai and Chou.
The reference stem, both visible branches and the branch order around the implied Lu position must all be shown. One visible branch, an unrelated Lu marker or a generic three-branch span is insufficient.
Identify the reference stem before selecting a pair.
Require both visible flanking branches; do not count a partial pair.
Lu-nest and Noble routes require separate citations
The source calls the Lu-nest route higher than the Lu-district route, but its compressed stem-and-branch wording does not form a reliable universal table. It also gives Pig–Rooster arching Xu for Bing or Ding and Snake–Rabbit arching Chen for Ren or Gui as Noble examples.
Additional Nayin, repeated-pillar, Noble-ahead, Horse-behind and Lu-in-the-middle examples are independent variants. Void and clash are adverse; no single scoring hierarchy is supplied across every route.
