What Is Five Elements in One Decade (五行一旬) in BaZi?
Learn the same-xun five-position rule, the Jia-Zi sequence example, life-stage and Six-Harmony support, failure conditions and Five Fortunes distinction.
Overview
Five Elements in One Decade is the workbook’s English name for 五行一旬. The source places Year, Month, Day, Hour and Fetus within one sexagenary decade and illustrates the route with Jia-Zi, Bing-Yin, Ji-Si and Geng-Wu “and the like”; it does not print the example’s fifth Fetus value. It also asks for Birth or Prosperous qi and Six-Harmony support without breakage. A second, opposite arrangement gives each of the five positions its own xun and calls that “Five Fortunes Gather Auspiciousness.” These two routes must not be blended. OpenFate does not currently include a Fetus pillar in this Wiki verdict and therefore does not detect either composite pattern.

The primary route asks five positions to share one xun
Classify the actual Year, Month, Day, Hour and adopted Fetus pillar by the same sixty-pillar cycle and show that all five belong to one ten-pillar decade.
The printed illustration names only four values and ends with “and the like.” A missing fifth value must not be guessed from the example.

Support and the five-xun alternative are separate tests
Same-xun membership is followed by life-stage vitality, Six-Harmony evidence and the absence of breakage. These conditions require their own traceable inputs.
“Five Fortunes Gather Auspiciousness” instead assigns each position to a different xun and asks fortune symbols to support one another. It is not a fallback for a failed same-xun route.
