Overview
White Tiger Holds Power is the standard English name for 白虎持勢. The classical passage lists six day pillars: Geng-Wu, Geng-Yin, Geng-Xu, Xin-Si, Xin-Mao and Xin-Wei. Geng or Xin Metal represents the western White Tiger, while “holding power” means the day structure has enough support to use the Wealth, Officer or Resource relations seated below it. A complete reading must still test Day Master support, seasonal qi, the selected useful relation and damaging interactions. The rule names Geng-Wu, Geng-Yin, Geng-Xu, Xin-Si, Xin-Mao and Xin-Wei. A different Geng or Xin day cannot enter by borrowing a branch or Ten God from another pillar.
