What Is True Official and True Horse (真官真馬) in BaZi?

Overview
True Official and True Horse is the standard English name for 真官真馬, a compact classical rule connecting “true” Officer and Horse evidence with the month command. The surviving San Ming Tong Hui passage also calls it Upper-and-Lower Officer–Resource or Ten-Kind Brocade, but its stem examples are terse and edition-sensitive. It must not be turned into a universal detector without a cited table and reconstruction policy, and it does not prove office, examinations, travel, horses, promotion, wealth, or rank.

The transmitted passage is too compressed for silent reconstruction
San Ming Tong Hui states that true Officer and true Horse join the month command, gives a terse series of stem examples, and records the alternate names 上下官印 and 十樣錦. The passage then attaches historical examination and office imagery to the configuration.
The compact stem string does not by itself supply a transparent modern algorithm. Different punctuation, editions, and school tables may produce different reconstructions. A reliable page must name its edition and adopted mapping rather than presenting one reconstruction as undisputed text.

Month-command alignment is central; isolated markers are insufficient
The phrase 合月建 makes the month environment part of the rule. A visible Direct Officer, a Travel Horse Fate Star, a Lu marker, or an Officer–Resource pair elsewhere in the chart cannot independently establish 真官真馬.
Any adopted reconstruction should show the Day Stem, month branch, Officer identity, meaning of 馬 in that table, upper-and-lower placement, strength, roots, and damage. Conflicts with the primary pattern, weak qi, clash, or mixed authority must remain visible.
