What Is Wealth Overwhelms the Self (財多身弱) in BaZi?

Overview
Wealth Overwhelms the Self is the workbook standard English name for 財多身弱, also rendered “much Wealth, weak Self.” Yuan Hai Zi Ping calls it the image of a poor person in a rich house, while San Ming Tong Hui says Wealth-heavy weak Self requires support from Resource in one passage and repeatedly compares effective Wealth with Day-Master strength. These are structural valuation statements from a traditional model, not proof of actual poverty or inaccessible assets. A review must establish effective Wealth and genuinely weak Self, then exclude a coherent Follow-Wealth pattern and inspect roots, Resource, Peers, Output generation, Authority pressure and interactions. Both sides of the comparison must be demonstrated
The Day Master side is assessed through season, roots, Resource, Peers and interactions. The Wealth side is assessed through month support, roots, visibility, generation from Output, location and whether combinations or clashes preserve its function.
Only a material imbalance between those effective sides supports 財多身弱. Counting Wealth stems or branches without testing their force, or treating every weak Day Master as wealth-heavy, creates a false positive.

Distinguish the imbalance from capacity language and following
身弱不擔財 is the general principle that weak Self may not use Wealth well; 財多身弱 names the more specific Wealth-heavy state. A chart can be near the capacity boundary without Wealth being the dominant opposing side.
If the Day Master is rootless, unsupported and the chart coherently follows Wealth, the correct route may instead be 從財格 or 從財未純. Ordinary balancing and follower logic must not be mixed silently.
