What Is One Noble at the Hour (時上一位貴) in BaZi?

Overview
One Noble at the Hour is the standard English name for 時上一位貴, a San Ming Tong Hui rule centered on one Seven Killing exposed in the hour stem. “One” is substantive: repeating Proper Officer or Seven Killing in the year, month or day breaks the cited purity. The Day Master must be strong enough, and control or transformation must be proportionate; excessive control and insufficient control are treated differently. The source also gives compressed root and luck-cycle qualifications that require school-specific interpretation rather than automatic timing. The pattern does not prove nobility, authority, a distinguished or late child, promotion, wealth, courage, fertility or success.

The source requires one exposed hour Killing rather than any hour power star
The rule places Seven Killing on the hour stem and values one clear instance. If Officer or Killing repeats in the year, month or day, the “one position” condition is no longer intact. A hidden, mixed or merely strong power category is not automatically equivalent.
The passage repeatedly pairs the hour Killing with a strong Day Master and measured control. Its praise is conditional; the word “noble” is the historical pattern name, not a social credential.

Strength, root, Blade, control and luck must be read as a balance problem
The Day Master needs support to receive the hour Killing. Yang Blade, Output control, Resource transformation, Wealth roots and combinations can change the route, but none is automatically favorable. The source’s compressed root language should be disclosed rather than flattened into a universal “rooted is good” rule.
When control is excessive, a later increase in Killing may restore balance; when control is absent, a controlling cycle may help. That is a conditional historical model, not a promise that a named year will bring promotion or childbirth.
