What Is Four Clashes Gain Position (四沖得位) in BaZi?
Learn why the Four Meng need self-birth or exchanged birth, Four Zhong need self-prosperity and Four Storehouses need self-tomb, with examples and limits.
Overview
Four Clashes Gain Position is the workbook’s English name for 四沖得位. It differs from merely having a complete four-branch set. For Yin, Shen, Si and Hai, the source asks each branch-pillar to have self-Birth or mutually exchanged Birth; for Zi, Wu, Mao and You it asks for self-Prosperity; for Chen, Xu, Chou and Wei it asks for self-Tomb. It gives Jia-Shen, Bing-Yin, Xin-Si and Ji-Hai with a Ding-Si Fetus; Xin-Mao, Geng-Zi, Gui-You and Wu-Wu; and Yi-Chou, Gui-Wei, Bing-Chen and Ren-Chen with a Jia-Xu Fetus. Later anecdotes and fatal language are historical interpretations, not safe predictions. OpenFate does not detect the composite pattern or synthesize a Fetus pillar.
At a glance
- Four Meng
- Yin · Shen · Si · Hai require self- or exchanged Birth
- Four Zhong
- Zi · Wu · Mao · You require self-Prosperity
- Four Storehouses
- Chen · Xu · Chou · Wei require self-Tomb
- Key distinction
- A complete branch quartet alone is insufficient
- Additional source layer
- Examples may include a Fetus pillar
- Product boundary
- No OpenFate four-clashes-position detector
Each branch family has its own required life-stage relation
First establish one complete quartet: the Four Meng, Four Zhong or Four Storehouses. Then test the full stem-branch identity of each pillar against that family’s required stage.
The name refers to two opposing pairs within the quartet. Ordinary branch presence or a single clash cannot satisfy the rule.
- Identify the complete quartet before testing stages.
- Apply Birth, Prosperity and Tomb only to their named branch family.
The three examples use different evidence routes
The Four Meng example emphasizes self-Birth, five-element completeness and additional Study Hall evidence; the Four Zhong example emphasizes self-Prosperity; the storehouse example calls its route Four Seals and uses self-Tomb.
Two examples add Fetus pillars. Those values may be documented as source evidence but cannot be assumed when a product chart does not calculate Fetus under the same policy.
- Keep each example’s stage and support evidence separate.
- Do not use an unavailable Fetus value to complete a chart.
OpenFate preserves branch clashes and life stages without composing the pattern
The engine can show actual branches, implemented clash relationships and supported Twelve Life Stage evidence.
There is no Four Clashes Gain Position detector. The article adds no Fetus pillar, exchanged-Birth inference, rank score, report conclusion or saved-chart mutation.
- Trace every clash and stage to an actual pillar.
- No Fetus synthesis, composite flag or report override.
Clash and life-stage labels cannot predict catastrophe
The source associates the pattern with rank and also tells stories of punishment and death. Neither side is a validated forecast.
Do not predict execution, death, lifespan, violence, accident, crime, legal outcome, office, examination success, wealth, health or relationships.
- No punishment, death, violence, crime or legal prediction.
- No office, examination, wealth, health or relationship guarantee.
