Overview
General Star Supports Virtue is the standard English name for 將星扶德, but its “General” is the historical monthly celestial General (月將), not the common BaZi General Star selected from a trine group. The cited route advances through Hai, Xu, You, Shen, Wei, Wu, Si, Chen, Mao, Yin, Chou and Zi across the twelve solar months, with the change anchored after each middle qi. It then asks whether that monthly General reaches the birth day and whether the day also receives Heavenly Virtue, Monthly Virtue and Noble support. Day Master strength and ordinary Officer structure still matter. OpenFate calculates the ordinary General Star and virtue markers, but has no monthly-General or General Star Supports Virtue detector.

This monthly General is not the familiar trine-based General Star
The ordinary General Star uses the year or day branch to find the peak branch of its trine. General Star Supports Virtue instead draws on the Liu Ren-style monthly General, a solar-month indicator that moves one branch at a time and changes after the middle qi.
The source sequence runs from Hai for the first month through Xu, You, Shen, Wei, Wu, Si, Chen, Mao, Yin, Chou and Zi. Mixing these two systems would produce a confident but wrong match.

The source requires a chain of timing, day and support evidence
The monthly General must be resolved for the birth point after the relevant middle qi and then connected to the natal day. The cited examples add Heavenly Virtue or Monthly Virtue and Tian Yi Nobleman rather than accepting the General by itself.
The source further distinguishes a supported Day Master from one without seasonal or structural backing. Visible Officer, Noble, Lu or Horse evidence can reinforce the reading, while a stronger ordinary pattern should remain primary.

No current detector resolves the historical monthly-General transition and composite support chain. This Wiki page therefore changes neither user reports nor scores and must not present the ordinary General Star result as a substitute.
