What Is Official Hidden, Warlord Visible (官藏殺顯) in BaZi?
Learn how exposed Seven Killing and hidden Proper Officer are separated by visibility, effective qi, strength, mediation and luck in BaZi.
Overview
Official Hidden, Warlord Visible is the workbook standard English name for 官藏殺顯. The source uses a Jia Day Master to contrast Geng Seven Killing exposed over a month carrying Xin Proper Officer with Xin Proper Officer exposed while Geng Seven Killing is stored in Shen. Its practical rule is visibility plus effective qi: when Killing is exposed and Officer hidden, judge the Killing route; when Officer is exposed and Killing hidden, judge the Officer route. A hidden or exposed star with no seasonal support, root or usable force may not qualify. Day-Master capacity, mediation and later activation still matter. The name does not prove office, command, virtue, danger or success.

The classical rule prioritizes the exposed power star without erasing the hidden one
For Jia Wood, Geng is Seven Killing and Xin is Proper Officer. The source describes Jia born under Si, You or Chou with Geng exposed, and Jia born in Shen month with Xin solidly exposed in the year or hour. It then states: exposed Killing with hidden Officer is judged through Killing; exposed Officer with hidden Killing is judged through Officer.
“Hidden” means carried in a branch, while “visible” means exposed on a stem. The passage also says a star without qi is not used. Visibility determines the primary route, but seasonal command, root, position and damage determine whether that signal is effective.

Strength, mediation and later activation decide whether the primary route remains usable
The source requires a capable Day Master. If exposed Killing is the operative route, Output control or rooted Resource transformation may be relevant; if Proper Officer is primary, clarity and protection from Hurting Officer matter. These are different pathways and should not be blended into one favorable label.
A later Officer cycle can complicate a Killing-led chart, and a later Killing cycle can complicate an Officer-led chart, but only if the arriving signal is effective. Combination, clash, root loss and seasonal change can alter the balance, so a natal label cannot predict a cycle by itself.

Official Hidden, Warlord Visible does not prove public office, management skill, obedience, aggression, criminality, conflict, promotion, reputation, wealth, health or lifespan. A visible Seven Killing does not make a person dangerous, and a visible Proper Officer does not certify virtue.
Employment, promotion, legal and safety decisions require conduct, qualifications and direct evidence. Use the pattern only to organize a traditional structural comparison, never to rank or stigmatize a person.
