What Are Four Pure Completions (四位純全) in BaZi?
Learn the Four Births, Four Cardinals and Four Storage sets of Four Pure Completions, their built-in clashes, related variants and OpenFate limits.
Overview
Four Pure Completions is the workbook’s English name for 四位純全, also translated as Four Positions Complete. The main passage groups the branches into Four Births—Yin, Shen, Si and Hai; Four Cardinals—Zi, Wu, Mao and You; and Four Storage branches—Chen, Xu, Chou and Wei. A strict route requires all four members of one set across the chart, not merely two or three branches. Because each set contains opposing pairs, completeness also brings clashes that must be evaluated rather than ignored. The passage later compares four Day Virtue, Kui Gang or Daily Noble positions and leads into the separate Pure Unity entry; those layers should not be collapsed. OpenFate does not declare this pattern.

Three four-branch families define the main complete-position routes
Yin-Shen-Si-Hai are the Four Births, Zi-Wu-Mao-You are the Four Cardinals, and Chen-Xu-Chou-Wei are the Four Storage branches. The main rule begins only when one entire family occupies the four branch positions.
Two or three members may matter under other combination or clash rules, but they are not a complete four-position set.
- Identify which one of the three families is complete.
- Do not promote partial sets to Four Pure Completions.
Completeness does not cancel the clashes inside the set
Each family includes opposing branches. The source itself notes advancement and retreat, family separation and instability in its historical language, showing that a complete set is not automatically harmonious.
Month Command, Day Master, useful relations, clash outcomes, combinations and strength still determine how the branches function. A complete list is only the first structural fact.
- Show every internal clash and any combination that changes it.
- Evaluate Month Command, strength and usable relations after the set match.
OpenFate keeps complete sets, four-marker variants and Pure Unity separate
The engine can show all four branches, interactions, hidden stems, Fate Stars and strength. This supports an auditable set check.
There is no Four Pure Completions detector. Four Day Virtue, Kui Gang or Daily Noble positions and the next Pure Unity topic remain separately named source layers and do not alter reports or scores.
- Preserve the three branch sets and later variants as separate evidence layers.
- No composite flag, prestige score or report mutation.
A complete set does not guarantee rank or prove sexuality and family outcomes
The passage makes extreme claims about emperors, high office, wealth, sexuality, relatives and early death. These are contradictory historical evaluations, not dependable modern outcomes.
Do not infer sexuality, morality, relationship quality, family separation, death, wealth, rank or political power. Personal and consequential decisions require direct evidence.
- No sexuality, morality, family or lifespan prediction.
- No wealth, office, political power or status guarantee.
