The source gives a specific case: a Jia Wood Day Master born at a Zi hour, where Zi stores Gui Water Proper Resource and supports the Day Master. It additionally asks for Xin Metal Proper Officer in the year or month so Officer can generate Resource. Heavy Wu-Ji Earth Wealth can control the Water Resource, while a Wu branch directly clashes Zi; these are different damage mechanisms and should not be merged. The old passage favors northwest luck and rejects southeast luck in this example, but that directional statement is conditional on the cited natal route, not a reusable forecast for every chart. Zi stores Gui Water. For Jia Wood, Gui is Proper Resource and generates the Day Master. The term therefore concerns a Resource participant located at the hour, not any hour branch that happens to produce the Day Master’s element through a loose Five-Element association.
