What Is Turbid Source, Clear Stream (源濁流清) in BaZi?
Learn how a weak or void year-month relation can gain strength in day-hour or later luck, the required continuity, timing boundaries and OpenFate limits.
Overview
Turbid Source, Clear Stream is the workbook’s English name for 源濁流清. It reverses the positional comparison: Wealth, Officer or another governing useful relation is weak, defeated, extinct or Void in year-month, while day-hour leads that same relation into strength and later movement can support it. The text notes that the Month Command may be light while day-hour provides the stronger route. It does not mean every difficult-looking year pillar guarantees later wealth, and it does not authorize fixed childhood or old-age dates. OpenFate can expose the underlying fields but does not declare this pattern.

The comparison follows one useful relation from weak source to stronger flow
Year-month shows Wealth, Officer or the governing useful relation in defeat, extinction, weakness or Void. Day-hour then supplies roots, life stage or support that makes the same relation more functional.
Unrelated favorable symbols in day-hour cannot repair a different failed relation by name alone. Continuity must be demonstrated.

The text connects weak year-month with early difficulty and stronger day-hour with later opportunity, while also referring to luck cycles. These layers must remain distinct.
