What Is Lu Origin Three Meetings (祿元三會) in BaZi?

Overview
Lu Origin Three Meetings is the standard English name for 祿元三會. The detailed classical rule gives five Yang Day Stem routes: Jia with Si-You-Chou, Bing with Shen-Zi-Chen, Wu with Hai-Mao-Wei, Geng with Yin-Wu-Xu and Ren with Yin-Wu-Xu. It then requires a strong Day Master, Resource support and route-specific checks for Killing, Output and the opposing branch combination. A separate transmitted explanation starts from the Day Master’s own Lu branch and extends it into that branch’s three-member combination; the two versions must be identified rather than silently merged. OpenFate calculates the stems, branches, combinations and Ten Gods but does not declare this composite pattern.

The detailed rule starts with five exact Day Stem routes
The source does not treat every Day Stem and every three-branch combination as interchangeable. It names Jia with Si-You-Chou, Bing with Shen-Zi-Chen, Wu with Hai-Mao-Wei, Geng with Yin-Wu-Xu and Ren with Yin-Wu-Xu. The complete branch set and its location in the natal pillars must be shown.
Each route has its own Resource support, Killing, Output and opposing-combination checks. The shared requirement is a Day Master able to receive the structure, with Resource support rather than a bare combination label.

A second classical explanation uses Lu as one part of a three-member set
The same passage cites a transmitted definition in which Jia sees its Lu at Yin and then Yin-Wu-Xu, while Yi sees its Lu at Mao and then Hai-Mao-Wei. It calls this “obtaining one and dividing it into three.”
That explanation is not identical to the five Yang-stem list. A reliable page records which version is being tested and never fills a missing branch by implication.
